GR Yaris Wheel and Tyre Installation Checklist: RAYS 57DR Case

The finished photo of a modified car shows the result, not all the checks behind it. For this Toyota GR Yaris, the workshop package combined RAYS 57DR Gold 18x9.5 +38 wheels, 245/40R18 Continental MC7 tyres, fitting, balancing and four-wheel alignment.

1. Confirm the vehicle

Record the exact model, relevant build details, current wheel and tyre markings, placard information and modifications. Suspension, brake and ride-height changes should be disclosed before products are ordered.

2. Confirm the wheel

Check diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern, centre location, fastener requirements, brake clearance and load suitability. This case used 5x114.3 wheels, but the bolt pattern by itself is not approval.

3. Confirm the tyre

Check the full size and service description, intended use, approved wheel-width information and vehicle requirements. This car used 245/40R18 Continental MaxContact MC7 tyres.

4. Inspect before mounting

The wheel, tyre, valve area and relevant vehicle components should be inspected. Existing damage, unusual wear or mechanical concerns may change the plan. A new tyre should not be used to conceal an unresolved suspension or steering issue.

5. Mount and balance correctly

Careful mounting protects the wheel finish and tyre bead. Balancing addresses vibration caused by uneven mass distribution, but it does not replace an alignment or repair a damaged component.

6. Check physical clearance

Confirm brake, suspension and body clearance at the front and rear. The assessment must include steering and suspension movement where relevant. A stationary photograph is not enough.

7. Complete the alignment stage

This GR Yaris received four-wheel alignment after installation. The service checks wheel angles and steering position; it cannot make an unsuitable wheel package suitable.

8. Explain ongoing care

Owners should know the recommended pressure source, how to recognise uneven wear and when to return for inspection. Any vibration, pressure loss, rubbing or unusual steering behaviour deserves prompt attention.

FAQ

What should I bring when asking for a quote?

Bring the vehicle year and variant, current tyre size, modification list and the desired wheel or tyre product.

Can the workshop confirm fitment from a registration number alone?

Vehicle identification helps, but modified cars may still require physical inspection and additional details.

Why is a final road check useful?

It can reveal vibration, steering-position or contact concerns that require further inspection.
