A Small Story About Trust and Business

Over the past 5 years, we’ve had the privilege of looking after a great family. Good people, long-term customers, the kind of relationship you value in this industry.

Recently, their car came in for a service. Nothing major — battery, air filter, cabin filter on a fairly new vehicle. Everything was straightforward.

At pickup, the customer explained they were going through some financial difficulty and could only pay $300, with the remaining balance to be paid in two weeks.

Normally, this isn’t something we offer. But after 5 years of trust, we chose to help — like we often do when we believe in the person.

Two weeks later, I followed up. I was told the payment had been made — but it hadn’t come through.

Another two weeks later, I followed up again. I was told it would be paid that night.

To be honest, the issue here is not the money.

Whether the $800 is paid today, later, or even much later — that’s not the main concern.

What matters more is honesty and communication.

If things are tough, that’s completely understandable. A simple message like:
“Hi Bruce, I’m still not in a position to pay yet. Can we delay this a bit longer?”
— that’s all it takes.

No pressure, no stress, no need for repeated follow-ups.

In business, your word is worth more than money.

At Autosport Tyreworld, we take pride in helping people, not just servicing cars. We try to do the right thing, and we trust that others will do the same.

All we ask in return is simple:
Keep your word.
